Both Canadice and Hemlock Lakes are highly regarded among anglers as a place to get away from it all and enjoy a day of fishing. The Dec annually stocks lake trout, brown trout, and landlocked salmon populations. The rainbow trout fishery is supported by natural reproduction from Springwater Creek.Other common species found here are: smallmouth bass; largemouth bass; chain pickerel; smelt; alewives; bullhead; yellow perch; rock bass; pumpkinseed; white crappie. Finger Lakes and Tributary Fishing Regulations Apply.

The north end of the lake is off limits to fishermen. See all Finger Lakes and Tributaries Special Regulations

Black Bass:
June 15 – March 15- Minimum Length is 12″, Daily Limit is 5
March 16 – June 14- Catch and release only, Artifical lures only

Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, Lake Trout, Atlantic Salmon:
All year- Minimum Length-15″, Daily Limit-5 in combination
Catch shall include no more than 1 Rainbow Trout or 3 Atlantic Salmon
